Only a little over a mile away from U.S. Highway 59, the highest trafficked non-interstate highway in the nation, sits the definition of a lively small town community. Established in 1871, Atlanta was named after Atlanta, Georgia, the home of many of the earlier settlers, as the Texas and Pacific Railway was built.
Today, Atlanta is home to close to 6,000 residents who are all prideful of their small town. Whether you are shopping at one of the many family-owned stores and boutiques, eating at the hometown restaurant of your choosing, cheering on the award-winning Rabbit football team, camping at the Atlanta State Park, or visiting the annual Forest Festival, you will soon realize that Atlanta is more than just a quick stop in your travels.
